Q: Do you provide transport?

Sorry, but we do not provide transportation. The Rapid Bus 101 & 102 from Weld Quay in George Town to Teluk Bahang is a direct bus that will drop you right in front of the Tropical Spice Garden (TSG) front gate. From George Town, please allow yourself 45 – 50 mins (from time of boarding bus) to arrive at TSG. From Batu Ferringhi, the bus ride is about 10 minutes. From Tanjung Bungah about 20 -25 mins and from Gurney Drive about 30 – 40 mins.

Q: Does the cooking class rate include a tour of the gardens?

Yes it does. Each of our classes include a guided tour through the spice and herb terraces.

Q: Can we book a class on arrival? Do we need to make a reservation?

Reservations are compulsory to safely secure your place in the class. Chefs do their marketing early in the morning and all the ingredients would have been bought by the 9am tour. So if you arrive on the door at 9am without a reservation, we cannot guarantee you a place. Please make a fully-paid reservation by 5pm the day before.

Q: Can children join a cooking class?

Yes! We allow children aged 7-14 yrs to cook alongside an adult by sharing the workstation. They are charged at half price, inclusive of the tour and lunch. Generally, we do not accept children 6 and below to be in the school for safety purposes.

Q: My spouse doesn’t want to cook, can he/she just take the tour and join me for the meal?

We welcome dining-only guests to join our cooking guests. We recommend they enjoy the gardens whilst you cook, and join you at the Patio after class for lunch/dinner. You may book for these extra meals (RM65/adult & RM38/child) via the checkout page on our website at the same time you book for a cooking class.

Q: I want to make a booking for one person – do you accept single bookings?

We need a minimum of 2 pax to start a class. If you are currently the only one booked, we will put you on a waiting list. We will nonetheless try our very best to accommodate you.
